Position Description

We are seeking an experienced, resourceful, organized and highly motivated Business Development Director in the New York City area/ remote to focus on asset manager clients and other buyside prospects, which collectively represent the core target vertical for Act Analytics.

Your Role

The Business Development Director role requires experience driving a complex sales process, specifically into top 200 (by AUM) asset manager client group. Your work will require in person meetings, briefings over the phone, conference and webinar leadership and presentation of Act Analytics’s ESG data products via web-based applications. You will work closely with the Act Analytics management team to set goals, evaluate progress and improve strategy to fuel further growth. You will manage a pipeline and deliver regular updates on sales forecasts, customer feedback and feature requests, competitor intelligence and market challenges to driving growth. You will also collaborate with marketing to enhance Act Analytics’s lead generation and drive inbound interest via Act Analytics’s website and collateral development. As the organization grows, this role is expected to grow a sales team including the associated support functions.

What We Seek

The ideal candidate in a hunter who has a history of bringing on new business and hitting sales quotas for financial data into buyside clients. Prior experience in ESG is preferred, but not critical. A passion for sustainable finance is required. The candidate loves the challenges that come with outbound prospecting and closing in a fast-growing, competitive market. The candidate is not afraid to try new things and brings a “can-do” approach to winning in the market.

Candidate Qualifications

  • At least four (4) years of sales experience
  • Proven success in a buyside data sales rol
  • Proven experience as a top performer in hitting quota
  • Experience in data analytics is essential
  • Experience in launching & embracing new data products
  • Experience in managing sales personnel is useful but not a prerequisite
  • Knowledge of ESG is helpful, but not a prerequisite requirement
  • Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principles
  • Experience of MS Office; knowledge of CRM software (Zoho)
  • Talented and professional communicator, both verbally and written
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, and driven to succeed
  • Love to meet and exceed goals on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Team player with entrepreneurial spirit

  • Have a BA / BS degree, frequently in business, finance, and related areas including computer or data science
